Behind The Scenes Of Making The OG Chris Statues

A huge thank you to our friend Darkota (Instagram/Facebook) for taking this photo, which makes it easy to compare our statue with all the other Chris statues and figures out there. When we said we wanted to build the best Chris statue, we really meant it.

It was a long and difficult journey.  Unlike in the later games, there was no HD 3D model in the original game for us to refer to.  Also, Charlie did not have his face scanned back then. The resolution of the videos and photos from the original cut scene is also very low. Therefore, we had to build everything from scratch.

Our model artist really took his time, and poured his heart and soul into it.

Facial Adjustments

Facial  Accuracies
Two rounds of prototypes were built and painted to facilitate adjustments to the finer details, and we never stopped striving for perfection.  Even as late as the night before the massive production began, we made a last minute decision to add a realistic fabric texture to the t-shirt and pants.  While this meant an increase in our production cost, once we had the finished product in our hands, we knew we had made the right decision!

We also learned other important lessons along the way.  For example, we ordered the beautiful color boxes before production began, but forgot to order the outer shipping boxes.  Ultimately, that delayed our shipping process.

We also listened carefully to your feedback, and we are now using more robust packing materials to better protect the color box when shipping them to you.

We spoke with Greg (OG Barry), Linda (OG Rebecca) and Eric (OG Wesker), and they are excited to be included in our future line-up.  We are aiming to build all of their OG chracter mini-statues within 2026.  We can think of no better way to celebrate the 30th anniversary!

Please stay tuned.
